Music Monday: Let the Wild Rumpus Start

Folk Fest, you make everyone so happy, and you give us such wonderful gifts such as: Patrick Watson, Matt Andersen, The Once, Buffy Sainte-Marie, 100 Mile House, The Head and The Heart, K.D. Lang*, Painting with Ella, Nanci Griffith, Joseph Arthur, City and Colour, Joel Plaskett, Coeur de Pirate, Portland Cello Project, Raleigh, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Lauren Payne and Cris Derksen. Not too mention wonderful things such as
Blue skies and great shade,

A reason to dance and a reason to sit,

Rainy adventures and a great big stage,

Friends to enjoy and trees to hug,

So thank-you thank-you thank-you! We sure had fun!

The folk fest ended off with this song, and Leonard Cohen perfectly expresses my feelings towards this past weekend, when in the introduction he says "We are so privileged to be gathered in places like this when so much of the world is plunged in darkness and chaos."

*This weekend's performance of K.D. Lang was played by Brent Tyler & Ari Neufeld.
